We help out the boys of Colchester Round Table with their charity events and often get together for a challenge. Sadly they beat us (very narrowly) in our Annual Quiz. The girls are now brain training very hard for the rematch!!
Colchester Night Shelter is a registered charity which has been helping homeless people since 1984. The charity providing temporary overnight accommodation for men and women in Colchester for up to 4 weeks. Advice and help is given to residents to apply for benefits, find permanent accommodation and commence the search for work. Their aim is to completely refurbish the 16 year old kitchen to bring it up to modern standards, which is likely to cost well in excess of £25,000.
Colchester Mind's aim and objectives are :-
* To provide comprehensive adult and child and adolescent
advocacy services.
* To provide professional counselling services.
* To provide accessible, friendly and supportive Community
Bridge Building Service for adults with mental health
problems
* To provide drop-in services and a wide range of youth
friendly services, therapies and activities, such as art groups
and music sessions, for young people with mental health
problems.
* To offer young people an opportunity to voice their opinions
through our Young Persons Advisory Board.
* To provide support in schools.
* To provide early intervention support through Improving
Access through Psychological Therapies (IAPT)
* To offer support to people from Black Minority Ethic (BME)
