By joining Circle you instantly multiply the number of girlfriends in your life, and you can't have too many! The ladies come from all walks of life, some work, some don't, some are mums, some aren't, some are married, others are single, some are sporty, then there are the more sedentary ones amongst us. The common denominator is we all want to have a good time. We meet fortnightly on a Thursday and enjoy all sorts of activities from a relaxing row down the river at Dedham to throwing ourselves down a slope in inflatable rings. But Circle is so much more than this, it is also a way to give something back to the community we live in through fund raising and volunteering. Everyone's a winner!
After years of living in Colchester but working in London I wanted to meet new people and make new friends close to home. On joining Ladies Circle I quickly asked myself "why didn't I do this before?". This is a great group of ladies who are very welcoming. The social events are always a lot of fun and we get to work together to support some very deserving charities too.
When I moved to Colchester I only knew a few people and was keen to make new friends and try new things. I was nervous meeting a new group of people for the first time, but everyone was so nice and welcoming that I really didn’t feel like a newcomer for long. More than anything else, Ladies Circle is fun, we are always doing different activities and things that I have never done before and I have made some fantastic friends. The opportunity to give back the community is also great, working on the Colchester Carnival this year was so much fun. I am so glad I joined Ladies Circle and would recommend it to anyone.
I joined Circle to meet some new people in Colchester and since joining I’ve made a great new circle of friends and enjoyed a variety of social events as well as the opportunity to get involved with the local community and offer my help where it is needed the most.
I originally joined ladies circle in North Yorkshire when I moved up there many years ago. When I found out I was heading back down south (but to another new location) the first thing I did was to find out where my nearest circle was! I find circle to be a great way to meet new people, get to know the area in which you live and do a little good along the way.
I decided to join Colchester Ladies Circle because despite living in Colchester for 5 years the only people I knew were a handful of my neighbours. I was also working in London which didn’t offer much opportunity to get out and meet people in my community so I decided this had to change! After searching the internet I discovered Colchester Ladies Circle and went along to one of the social events. Any doubts I had about meeting a room full of strangers soon disappeared as everyone was very friendly and put me at ease. As well as the social side, there is the added bonus of doing your bit for charities within the local community. If you’re thinking about joining but are still plucking up the courage to do it then I would say just go for it!
I moved to Colchester from London and wanted to meet a group of people that were interested in raising money for charity but also wanted to socialise. I fortunately came across the Colchester Ladies Circle website and the group looked perfect. I first attended a business meeting and met a group of like-minded people who were all really nice and welcoming. I would definitely recommend Colchester Ladies Circle to anyone that wants to be Involved with a group of people that want to raise money for charity but also have a good laugh in the process
It took me a while to find the courage to get in touch with Colchester Ladies Circle but I am so glad I did. They invited me to join them for a social in a local pub and I’ve been going along to a wide range of events ever since. Everyone has been very friendly and welcoming. The fundraising side is combined with the fun: it is nice to be helping raise money for local causes.
When I heard of Circle I thought it was an ideal way to make new friends and help some local charities. It was the case! We have a lot of fun with a variety of social events and above all we get to support some great causes.
